Since the company’s inception in 1999, Polyhistor has successfully brought rough ideas to finished products. We do every step of the product development chain from paper napkin sketch to Industrial Design – 3D CAD to prototype, engineer and manufacturing. Our designs are always made with manufacturing and cost of production in mind. Our customer base includes medical, defense, lighting, signage, automotive, and consumer products. Polyhistor is a certified SolidWorks manufacturing partner, with full 3D design and manufacturing capabilities. Meet Peter Schönning

Founder and President

Born and raised in Borlange, Sweden, Peter came to the United States in 1994. He holds a Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering from University of Dalarna in Sweden and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Central Florida.

Peter has a true passion for product design and development, industrial design as well as mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Prior to founding Polyhistor International in 1999, Peter gained valuable years of experience in product design and engineering at Super Vision International and Landis & Gyr corporations.

He is a Board Member of First Coast Manufacturing association (FCMA). For many years Peter has volunteered as a Judge at “FIRST”, an Orlando Regional Robotic Competition for High Schools.  “FIRST” stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology”, an organization that promotes technical and entrepreneurial spirit among students. He has also held positions on the Florida Regional Committee and has acted a student mentor.

Peter believes success comes from a sense of persistency, a smiling face, and a “can do attitude”. He has extensive experience assisting both the small entrepreneurs and inventors, and Fortune 500 companies in their product development and manufacturing needs that meet both aggressive schedules and budgets.
